I will constantly be pointing my finger back at me asking… “am I in the right to do this?”…”am I doing the same thing”…”Am I acting Holier Than thow?” I am mainly talking about rebuking people right now. I first know that I am called to it. Galatians 6:1 - “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” It is loving and honoring to compassionately point out things that need to be corrected in your brother or sisters life. If you are receiving correction…you should also come at it in an open and optimistic way. If you are anything like me and can be a little sensitive, remind yourself that they are doing this out of love and concern for you! If you happen to be the one giving it, makes sure you are coming out of a heart of love and not condemnation.

             - Just a thought I had today!

I serve a Lord who WANTS good things for me and I can draw to him for wisdom for confusing decisions

I have a husband who is beyond words amazing and loves me dearly

My family & friends are still with me and I have them here to love and encourage

That I can freely read my bible and pray. We often take this for granted but in some places people are suffering for Jesus.

That I can rest easy…because I loved getting to sleep!

Waiting Periods

In our lives, though they are so short, we go through so many changes. Times of busyness, loneliness, excitement and even times when we feel absolutely nothing is going on. Almost as if you are waiting for something to come that fills your time or gives you joy…maybe you even search for it in many places and ways and it never measures up. I just watched a sermon not too long ago that completely spoke to me on this very subject and I want to share a few points.

what seems to be like our most pointless waiting room can be God’s greatest work room. - We can be put in a waiting period in our lives for a few reasons. Maybe God is trying to teach you something. God always wants to do something IN you before He ever wants to do something THROUGH you. You could have been headed in the wrong direction & God wants to re-route you. It’s safe to say that sometimes our detours are God’s destinations.

Resist the urge to complain and fill your situation with praise. - TRUTH: God has given us things daily to rejoice about, always! In Acts 16:25 is says that Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praise for everybody to hear in the prison. They were treated with the worst punishment for literally doing nothing. They could have complained in their situation, they could have cried to God but they praised Him! All of the prisoners saw this and eventually the jail guard and his whole family come to Christ. But the point is, as a Christian you are always under scrutiny. People are always watching what you will do different in your time when things aren’t going your way. This is an opportunity for you to be a light, just like Paul & Silas.

Let your pain trigger your praise and position yourself to let God work on you while you wait. - Waiting rooms can be painful and feel useless but getting out of them never involves just sitting around waiting. You have got to work. If you wan’t joy in your situation don’t just pray for it…rejoice. Rejoice in the things you have received even when they are hard to see. You wan’t direction in your life? Seek it out. Take every opportunity, pray about where He want’s you to be, what He want’s you to say, how He want’s you to do it. Being steadfast in your prayer. Learn to preoccupy yourself with fulfilling God’s purpose and glorifying Him rather than trying to escape your problems.

Be more concerned with God’s glory than our own release. - If we are going to call ourselves followers of Jesus we have got to make every initiative to follow what His word tells us. I have learned this with my worship team, in my marriage & even my family and friends. When sometimes I just don’t want to sing something because it’s difficult, or I don’t want to talk about something because I am afraid of being judged…I am thinking totally about myself. I have learned that you have to let go of what you want for the greater vision. Instead of thinking of yourself think of how you can better serve and build up your brother’s & sister’s.

It’s amazing & I can’t believe all that God is teaching me right now. I started reading the book, “The Excellent Wife” and Jesus is surely changing me through it.

1 Corinthians 11:3 says that the man is head of the woman. And there is fulfillment in doing this. When you actively choose to place yourself under the authority of your husband, here is where you will find that joy. Notice that it says actively, implying that it will not just come to us. We have to be seeking, reminding ourselves to submit on purpose! My husband may not be perfect but our God is. God knows what is best for us and even though our husbands are not perfect, in spite of their imperfections, God has chosen to place the wife under her husband. This does not guarantee that your husband will always do the wisest, most godly thing. It does mean, however, that regardless of what he does, God is working in your life. We are called to be submissive to our husbands always, unless he asks us to sin. We are FIRST under God and then under him. I am so encouraged today by this book, Jesus & the love and joy I have for my husband!

“Keep in mind that you will never be what God want’s you to be until you place yourself under God’s plan by coming under the authority of your husband.”

I need to be actively seeking to honor, respect & submit to my husband & this includes a few things. I’m going to make a list of how I can do those things this week and what that looks like.

I can speak words that are building up to him and not for the purpose of tearing him down. — Even when he is doing something wrong…it is all about WHEN I say something to him about his wrong doing, WHERE we are, and HOW I am saying it to him. It is always most important to think about what you are called to do, regardless of what he is doing. Ask yourself.. “okay, he is doing this but what am I to be doing in this situation instead of focusing on what he is doing wrong.”

I can have hands that are willing to help him. —cleaning the house, helping him with a project, & (the fun one!) making love.

I can honor him. — speaking well of him to other people. Trusting in his decisions. Thinking of and speaking to him first before making decisions.

I can be careful.— with the things I do & say to him and make sure they are coming from a heart of love & not from anger

I can be respectful. — By listening to the things he has to say, responding to him in love, & keeping my word to him.

Hope you are encouraged today by this as I am. Remember that our most important ministry is our husbands!

I can admit that I am weak. Anyone for that matter. And all the while, I know it hurts me, I can’t imagine how it feels to God. How His heart must ache for His children. God blesses everyone…even atheist. His blessing is on us when get up & our heart is still beating and there is breath in our lungs. There is so much beauty in His creation that He made wonderful for us. I feel like atheist all have the same exact view on Christians and God…or at least all the people I have talked to. And it is mainly because they read the bible out of context or they have no clue as to what Jesus REALLY did for them. There is nothing wrong with this, just lack of knowledge or being fed too much of the wrong information. I also find that people who claim to be followers of Jesus sometimes live their lives as if they aren’t forgiven themselves & that brings up a BIG issue. We are not here to condemn, mock or be repulsed by anyone for anything not matter how big their sin. Because that what atheism is…it’s sin. If you say you are a follower of Jesus and every aspect of your life portrays otherwise, please, do not call yourself a follower and do not give people false information out of your attempt to act righteous. People say that the “in-between christian” is the best kind of christian to be…not lacking of your faith, not too radical but comfortable where everyone finds you acceptable. I disagree…I wan’t to be radical & audacious with my faith and I don’t care if you call me nuts. I know that is how Jesus lived His life and it’s how He want’s me to live mine. Revelation 3:15-16 says “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Plain as day in scripture it tells us that just being comfy, warm, and in the middle is wrong! I just wan’t to work in my friends lives and love on them and be compassionate to their struggle. All though they may not see that what they are doing is wrong (as we often don’t) the way it effects them is undeniable. It’s my hope that REAL Christians, people who truly love Jesus and follow scripture on how it says to treat the lost, would surround them and help them. When it comes down to it, we are all the same. We need compassion, acceptance, love & forgiveness. The mercy that Jesus extended to us should be carried out to other people. When it concerns atheist trying to talk down to other Christians because of their faith…it’s OKAY. We are told that we will be hated for His name but remember that Jesus was hated first. There is no need or excuse to talk back down to them out of anger or defense but be alert to tell them the reason for the hope you have! Don’t return insult for insult but with a blessing, 1 Peter 3:9. Show this world who Jesus is with our actions and not everything that we say. I do and will always believe that being an atheist is not okay. It is sin and it is nothing more than Satan deceiving your hearts to deny your own creator, the one who truly loves you and made you. He is a liar and there to cloud your judgement and can hold you in his trap as long as you let him. It is a sad truth but everything the bible says is truth. Life here on earth is short and easy to get caught up in momentary pleasure but eternity is forever and unforgiving with the wrong choices. But I am SO happy that Jesus provided a way out for us. God loved us so much that He sent His only son to endure and live the life that we never could in our place. He extended grace and gave us hope because of the undeniable love he had for all of us! You can find freedom and break free from the confusion and despair. In my opinion, you are truly missing out on the blessings and freedom God want’s to pour out to you. You are His son’s and daughter’s and want’s good for you. It is my prayer that I could continually seek to speak truth to my friends and above all else LOVE them because that is what I am called to.

Photo

But God who is rich in mercy, because if His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in our trespasses. id="en-NIV-17311">26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
<sup class="versenum">28 </sup>Her children arise and call her blessed;
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
<sup class="versenum">30 </sup>Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

This scripture in particular is one that I regularly come back to and each time it teaches me something new. I love being a wife and how God is molding me & teaching me to continually be a better one. I see so much growth because of the work He is doing in me! Even if you aren’t married yet, read up on this and prepare yourself to be a great one later on!
